Hanziverse is an interstellar playground for Chinese character explorers. We transform strokes into stardust and poems into planets, guiding you to discover the vast universe within each character.

Why Create Hanziverse?

We've heard from some overseas parents that their children have limited access to Chinese courses and struggle with writing characters. Since handwriting has become less common, we've noticed that stroke order doesn't always match our memories. In contrast, we're quite interested in games related to character decomposition and stroke order. After seeing the stroke animation interpretations in hanzi-master, we thought it would be fun to create a "Hanziverse" ourselves.

Why Call It Hanziverse?

Since we were creating a brand for Chinese characters, we wanted a relevant brand name, thus Hanziverse was born.

First, let's break down this word structure: Hanziverse is a combination of Hanzi and Universe.

Hanzi is the direct phonetic translation of Chinese characters, representing a more colloquial cultural transmission. The formal English translation for Chinese characters should be Chinese Character. Chinese Character tends toward serious academic research, while we aim to build a fun learning cultural community, so we decided to use Hanzi.

Universe means cosmos. Each Chinese character is like a star in the universe. In exploration, you may not encounter every character, but continuing to discover the inner essence of characters and the connections between strokes can be quite enjoyable.

Of course, Hanziverse is not a native word. However, as a fun learning platform, trying to create a blended word is not out of the question, just like Duolingo. Plus, we won't delve into the concept of metaverse here, but Metaverse is also a similarly combined blended word.

Why Hanziverse?

We hope to build an interactive stroke learning experience through Hanziverse, expanding examples that better align with the original meanings of characters when they were first created.

We hope to bring everyone into the Hanziverse and bring Chinese characters into daily life.

Future of the Platform

We don't know how long this platform will last, but everything has meaning in existence. Just like stars in the universe, some will be easily discovered and embraced by Earth, some may not meet for countless eons, and some will become meteorites.
